Stepping Out

Being in Finland, I decided to take advantage of the beautiful architecture and the quiet nature of the people. I still remember how it felt setting up my tripod for the first time. I could feel the passing glances, wondering what I must be doing. It took some courage to finally step out and do this so no curious soul could possibly stop me. It’s important to mention it took some time to fully let go and just enjoy the moment. So I danced. Swung my arms around while clicking away on my little controller. I decided I wanted something simple and I pictured myself through the metal bars and just kept nudging my little tripod till it was in it’s perfect spot. Stepping out that day has now become one of my fondest memories.

The Stripes and Stares

This photo was somehow really hard to do but it came out beautifully. I was already back in the States at this point so the glances turned into stares and wonderment turned into questions. It was hard feeling at ease, just standing in front of a tripod, trying to perfect a picture. That was the first time I had wished for someone to be there but I’m glad I stuck with it because this is easily one of my favorite photos I’ve done. Not to mention how fun a giant hat is.
